This process took roughly a year to complete as there were a number of requirements we had to meet. We went through this process for a number of reasons: * more flexibility in choosing upstream providers * larger address space for us and our customers * direct control over routing and reverse IP assignment ARIN requires that we give back all our previous address space owned by upstream providers. This means we must switch all our customers over to these new IPs. We have been slowly notifying and migrating customers over to these new blocks of addresses, however, recent events have forced us to speed up this procedure. NTT/Verio, one of our upstream providers, has suddenly and without warning removed our nameservers from their servers that control "reverse IP resolution". In a nutshell, this means we can no longer resolve IP addresses that they own. This stems from a recent dispute that is unrelated to the new addresses. Why they've chosen this unreasonable path after 6 years of doing business with them is beyond me. The immediate result some customers are experiencing is bounced email because of this lack of reverse resolution. We will shortly be contacting everyone, many for a second time about switching IP addresses. We understand all too well the inconvenience this causes and it is our intention to guide you in any way we can to minimize any downtime. The important thing to note is after this change, the addresses we assign will be owned by Netsville.
